     THE DIESEL FITTERS are:

Ben Towell-Vocals Percussion and Tin Whistle

    Liz Rothwell -Vocals and Mandolin

Ste Rothwell -Vocals and Violin and Banjo

    Hayley Clarke- Bass Guitar

    Luke Vaudrey- Accoustic Guite

    Liz (H) Hogan -Accordion

    Katie Ball- Drums

The Diesels are a young, 7 piece folky, rock, stompy, perhaps uniquish (?) band from Liverpool.

The band formed in 2004, and have already gone through a bit of a metamorphos. Over the past 2 years we have seen and lost Ronnie Radders, Dion , Andy Steele and recently Joey Smerden, for lots of reasons, to end up with the present and now established line up.

Over the past few years the band have built up a loyal and enthusiasic following.Gigs have taken the band far afield: They have played many venues in the Liverpool area: Stamps Bar, Crosby, the Zanzibar, the Magnet, Barfly, etc.

We have played the Mersey River Festival on the main stage, the Mathew Street Festival alongside the Buzzcocks, and the Stranglers, in front of 2000 people.

The band have toured the West Coast of Scotland, and Limerick, Ireland, to great receptions.

The Diesels have played several gigs in venues outside the Liverpool area; the Hark 2 towler, Bury, Telfords Warehouse Chester to name a few.

The band are regularly played on Radio Merseyside, probably the only regional station playing original music.(Thanks to Billy Butler and Jimmy McCracken for giving new bands the chance to play live on Radio)

Last year was been particularly sucessful, with the band breaking into the festival scene playing Ruthin, Ireby and their biggest gig yet, Solfest, a 5000 sell out, alongside the Levellers, the Proclaimers, the Wonderstuff, the Selector etc.

On top of this sucess the band have made it through to the final on the Carling Unsigned Bands 06 competition to be held at the Carling academy London on 16 th August (see What`s going on)

We have just reached vthe final of the Young Gifted and Green final in Manchester, part of the Manchester Irish festival.

The band have recently lost their drummer Joe. Joe`s high fliying job has mean`t that he cannot comit himself to the band anymore. We now have Kate.

We are now working with the Liz Hobbs Group, and this should open up new doors on our gigging platform. We are very excited about this.
